'The Voice' 2013 Recap: Season 4 Blind Auditions Come to an End, Coaches Finalize Teams Heading into Next Week's 'Battles Premiere', Shakira and Usher Face Off For Luke Edgemon
Finally, after last night's "The Voice" show, the season 4 blind auditions have come to an end. Now it's time for NBC's hit reality show to move on to the battle rounds. Next week's "The Voice" will feature "The Battles Premiere" Monday night as each coach's singers will face off against each other while performing duets. As for Tuesday night's show, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Shakira, and Usher all had one last spot remaining on their teams so they had to choose their final singers wisely.
Since each of the coaches have just one spot remaining, they were all very picky with their final selections. This made it hard for the singers on last night's show to get the judges to push their buttons. Out of the six singers from Tuesday night's show, two were unable to get anyone to turn their chairs around. This was the case for Dustin Hatzenbuhler who sang Michael Buble's "Haven't Met You Yet" and Mark Lennon. Unfortunately for Lennon, who sang The Beatles' "Come Together" it seemed like he would have had the judges turn around if he had performed earlier in the season.
Jacqui Samdell performs "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac and gets Usher and Blake to turn their chairs around. Samdell chooses Team Blake, filling up his team for season 4. Amber Carrington performs "Good Girl" by Carrie Underwood and Adam turns his chair around. Adam Levine's team is now filled up. This leaves the two new coaches, Usher and Shakira, to have their pick of the remaining singers.
Luke Edgemon sings Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me" and gets both remaining coaches to push their buttons. Edgemon ends up choosing Team Shakira, leaving Usher as the lone remaining coach with a spot open. Usher ends up turning his chair around for Jessica Childress, who sings "Marry You" by Bruno Mars.
With that, the blind auditions are over for season 4 of "The Voice." Next week the show moves on to the battle rounds, which is where the drama and suspense should really start to pick up. Which coach do you think has the strongest team?
