'X-Men: Apocalypse:' Release Date & Spoilers: Will Hugh Jackman Return As Logan/Wolverine?
When X:Men: Apocalypse was first announced, fans of the X-Men series have since started to speculate about the role of Hugh Jackman as Logan aka Wolverine in it. Now, if reports are to be believed, then Wolverine is set to appear in the upcoming trailer of the film.
According to Heroic Hollywood, Marvel Comics is going to release the new trailer of X-Men: Apocalypse in the ongoing CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Apirl 14, 2016. It is being reported that the new trailer will also show Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine. Heroic Hollywood further revealed that during the re-shoot of the upcoming film, Jackman came on-board to shoot his part in the film. Wolverine was not supposed to be in the film but director Bryan Singer figured out a way to write a scene for him at the last minute. Therefore we are not sure, whether Jackman will be having a longer cameo or just a line of dialogue similar to X-Men: First Class.
Cinema Blend reported that since the Apocalypse has been announced, the possibility of Jackman to come on-board has been rife. And if Jackman is slated to reprise his role in Apocalypse, then it will mark the eighth time since he has portrayed Wolverine.
The 47-year-old Jackman has previously stated that Wolverine 3 will be the last time he will be seen playing the role of clawed mutant character. During the Dr. Oz show via CinemaBlend, Jackman stated that he never thought that Wolverine will be liked by so many fans of Marvel.
"I never thought in a million years it would last, so I'm so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it. ... I kind of have in my head what we're going to do in this last one. It just feels like this is the perfect way to go out."
Meanwhile, Singer teased about the darker side of Jean Grey, played by Sophie Turner, who is famous for portraying Sansa Stark in HBO's Game of Thrones. While talking withe Entertainment Weekly, Singer stated that in the upcoming film, fans will get to watch the life of mutants in a new way and Grey will be shown in a totally new avatar.
"Jean she has not only has her telekenisis and her telepathy but she also knows inherently that something darker and more powerful is growing inside her and she doesn't quite know what it is."
X-Men: Apocalypse is slated to release on May 27, 2016.
