‘Suicide Squad’ Star Scott Eastwood Joins ‘Fast 8’ Cast: Pays Tribute to Paul Walker
Fast & Furious franchise has finally added a new cast member in the upcoming film, Fast 8. Suicide Squad star, Scott Eastwood has finally revealed that he will be appearing for his friend, Paul Walker's franchise as a new character.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Mad Max: Fury Road actress, Charlize Theron would be joining the ensemble cast of Fast 8. Now, Deadline reports that the son of Clint Eastwood will be seen sharing the screen with Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Michelle Rodriguez. The film will be helmed by F. Gary Gray and is penned by Chris Morgan.
Scott confirm the news of his casting by posting few heart touching message official Instagram handle. On his social media account, the 30-year-old Scott posted a picture of himself with number eight above his head. The caption read as:
"It's hard to put into words how excited I am for the next Fast & Furious. To me, the series is so much more than just a franchise. It's a legacy."
Earlier this week, unseen footage of Paul was also released online. In the uploaded image, he talked about Paul as well and said that he was very dear to him and has always influenced him.
"Paul - I am going to make you proud."
Unlike Charlize, whose character in Fast 8 is still not clear, Daily Mail reports that Scott will be seen playing the protege of Kurt Russel's federal agent.
Scott started his acting career by staring in his father's 2008 film, Gran Torino. In 2010, he played the lead role on Enter Nowhere. Before the release of Fast 8, Scott will be seen in Oliver Stone's upcoming biopic on Edward Snowden titled, Snowden alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Divergent star, Shailene Woodley.
Production of Fast 8 will begin from May 2016 and is slated to release on April 14, 2017.
