'The Flash' Season 2 SPOILERS: Teddy Sears Talks Jay Garrick, Hunter Zolomon/Zoom Origin
Things are definitely getting exciting in the second season of The Flash, now that Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) knows that Zoom is actually his mentor Jay Garrick. But what do we really know about the super-villain? Teddy Sears has just offered some insight on what's in store in "Versus Zoom," which includes Hunter Zolomon's origin story.
Sears, who takes double duty by playing Jay and Hunter in The Flash, recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly. The actor admitted that the villain actually shared a lot in common with Barry than we suspect.
"What's really exciting about going and looking at Hunter Zolomon's origin story is that it very closely mirrors the Barry Allen origin story," Sears said before stating that Hunter goes through the same trauma as the Scarlet Speedster.
"We're going to see what happened to Hunter as a child look almost exactly like what happened to Barry when he was a child," he explained, adding that although they both go through the same childhood tragedy, the two Speedster decided to take different paths.
"One man went one way and one man went the other," Sears said.
And what of the man in the iron mask? It turns out his identity will finally be known in the Season 2 finale, and Sears claims that it will be well worth the wait.
"I can promise that it will be revealed and it will be quite satisfying," he confirmed.
"Versus Zoom," the fifteenth episode of The Flash Season 2, will air on The CW on April 19.
