Ghost In The Shell Anime: Twitter Reacts Scarlett Johansson/Major Motoko Kusanagi Photo
Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures have released the first look of their western adaptation of the anime series, Ghost In The Shell. Twitter had lots to say about Scarlett Johansson as Major Motoko "Macho" Kusanagi in the official photo.
As we previously mentioned, Ghost in the Shell is set in a futuristic society where technology has allowed humans to replace body parts with cybernetic gear. Some of the citizens, including Motoko (Johansson) even have full-body prosthesis. Motoko has a so-called "cyberbrain" that allows her to retains her original soul. The downside of having this kind of technology is that it opens people to the possibility of having their brains altered and hijacked by hackers. Motoko is assigned to hunt down The Puppet Master, who loves to implant false memories in his growing list of victims.
According to Indirewire, the studios have officially released the first image of the sci-fi/action movie. In the glossy photo, the Avengers; Age of Ultron actress appears to be wearing a black wig on her wig. Notice how the strands of black hair have light blue edges. Motoko (Johansson) appears to be looking at her own reflection in the mirror.
