General Hospital Kirsten Storms, Brandon Barash Break-Up, Soap Stars Split

Bring on the Soap Opera drama. One of our favorite Soap power couples have just called it quits. It seems that General Hospital stars Kirsten Storms and Brandon Barash couldn't make things work together. The two have come to the mutual decision to throw in the towel on their relationship after three-years of marriage.

However, while their lives might be pretty crazy onscreen, it doesn't seem that the Soap Opera tension has spilled over into their real lives, as they have reportedly split on friendly terms according to Us Weekly.

"We are splitting due to the cliche irreconcilable differences, but we're splitting amicably," the 36-year-old actor explained in an interview with Soap Opera Digest. "We have every intention of remaining a family through this and co-parenting our kid and retaining a friendship in the efforts of raising her in a healthy environment."

The former Disney Channel star and her hubby got married back in June 2013. They are the proud parents to their two-year-old daughter Harper.

The well-being of their child is the most important thing to the parents. They explained that raising her in separate houses seems like it would be best for her.

"This was not a hasty decision, a lot of thought and therapy went into this," Basach responded. "But we've decided that raising our daughter in two separate homes would be a healthier choice for all of us."

It seems that Storms, couldn't agree more with the decision to split, as she reveals that it was time.

"We went to therapy for a long time, trying to figure out how to communicate better with each other," she said, according to People.com. "It's not anything that we dislike about each other."

She also added that without the pressures of being in a relationship, they have actually started to get along better.

"We are getting along, and I would say enjoying each other's company more now that we don't have the pressure of what comes with a relationship added on to that," the General Hospital actress mentioned. "I think Brandon and I are really looking forward to getting our friendship with each other back."
