First Look at Finn Jones as Danny Rand: 'Iron Fist' Has Started Filming in New York [PHOTOS]
It certainly seems like a great time to be in New York City. Just a few weeks after onlookers were treated to the sight of Benedict Cumberbatch prancing around and visiting comic book stores in his Doctor Strange costume, Finn Jones has been spotted on the streets playing a wide-eyed Danny Rand for the Netflix series Iron Fist!
The show has officially started filming in New York, and it looks like the first scenes featuring the martial artist will involve Danny's return to the city. Jones has been photographed roaming the streets looking more like a tourist than a superhero. The Game of Thrones star hopped on the sidewalk with bare feet (?!), a striped tunic and a backpack, and the image also shows the bearded Danny looking up at the buildings, possibly in awe at how the city has changed since he left.
Although the casting of Jones was initially met with uncertainty, Iron Fist fans have since embraced the British theater actor as the beloved character.
It also looks like the Iron Fist cast is growing by the second. Just a few days after Jones' Game of Thrones costar and Star Wars: The Force Awakens fan favorite Jessica Henwick was confirmed to play Colleen Wing, it was announced that Lord of the Rings actor David Wenham will portray Harold Meachum.
Most recently, the Netflix show added 90210 star Jessica Stroup as Harold's daughter Joy while Banshee's Tom Pelphrey has been cast as her uncle Ward Meachum. In the comic books, both characters believe that Iron Fist is responsible for the death of Harold and will do anything to bring him to justice.
There is no word yet on when Iron Fist will air on Netflix, but the series is expected to debut in 2017.
