Jessica Sanchez 'Glee' Role Revealed, 'American Idol' Runner-Up Will Play Frida Romero In Two Episodes
Rumors have been swirling ever since it was announced that American Idol standout Jessica Sanchez would be filming a role for FOX musical juggernaut Glee. Will this transition into a larger role for Sanchez? Will she play a love interest for Finn? While we don't know that yet, what we can say is we know the name of the character she will be playing. Sanchez will portray Frida Romero in the April 25 and May 9 episodes of Glee.
According to a Glee fan site "Jessica Sanchez will play Frida Romero - the lead of a rival glee club, Hoosierdaddies, from Indianapolis. She will be on the season finale on May 9, and will make a quick appearance on 'Lights Out' episode on April 25."
Jessica has admitted that Romero is a "legendary diva" in a previous interview with People.
According to reports gleaned by ABS-CBN, Sanchez will perform DJ Zedd's "Clarity" in the season finale.
Glee showrunner Ryan Murphy told the Manila Bulletin that, if he had had his way, he would have cast Sanchez in every episode this year.
"Well, when you have a voice like that, we wanted her to be in every episode this year. But she couldn't because of the tour. She is doing an album so we worked it out that she will probably do two or three episodes so that will probably be 16, 17, 18 when we get into the regionals competition," he said.
"I would imagine she is going to be the big voice star of another competing choir who gives them a run for their money," Murphy added.
What do you think? Are you excited for Jessica Sanchez's Glee role as Frida Romero? Will you be watching April 25 and May 9? Do you think she'll end up with a long-term role on the show?
