Daft Punk's highly anticipated new album Random Access Memories will be released May 21. However, fans may not be able to contain themselves to get to the French duo's new album. Maybe one of the most highly anticipated albums of 2013 has been marketed beautifully by Daft Punk and Columbia Records. With plenty of secrecy surrounding the band's album and rumored tour, they have released teaser's during "Saturday Night Live" and preview video's via "The Collaborators" video series. With a preview also featured at Coachella recently, the band's promotion has hit a whole new level. They recently at down with Rolling Stone magazine to give fans some interesting news surrounding their 2013 plans.

We already know Random Access Memories will feature collaborations from the likes of Chic's Nile Rodgers, Pharrell Williams, Panda Bear, and Julian Casablancas thanks to their Coachella video reveal. The band also just recently debuted their "Get Lucky" ad on "SNL." The one minute video featured Rodgers and Willaims playing alongside Daft Punk in a very disco sounding track. In other very exciting news for music fans, Daft Punk revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone, that they worked with rapper Kanye West on his new album Whoa. Unfortunately, West won't be doing anything on Random Access Memories, but it's still very exciting to hear what the French duo have in store for the West collaboration. Thomas Bangalter told Rolling Stone magazine about the Kanye West collaboration, "It was very raw: he was rapping – kind of screaming primally, actually."

There was some disappointing news revealed in the interview however. Thomas told Rolling Stone the band has no current plans to go on tour to promote their new album. "We want to focus everything on the act and excitement of listening to the album. We don't see a tour as an accessory to an album," said Thomas. Daft Punk will be performing a "global launch party" in the small Australian town of Wee Waa on May 17. The show will be streamed to the entire world online.
