Fandango is celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Top Gun with its very own tribute. On the theatrical release of May 16, 1986, movie-goers were treated with an unforgettable action/drama film directed by the late Tony Scott, starring Tom Cruise (Maverick)  and Val Kilmer (Iceman).

From the plot synopsis, the best of the best learn their flying skills at The Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School. Though fighter pilot Maverick (Tom Cruise) is a hotshot in his own right, his reckless attitude and cocky demeanor puts him at odds with the other pilots. As Maverick finds himself up against Iceman (Val Kilmer), he's also competing for the attention of his flight instructor, Charlotte Blackwood (Kelly McGillis). After becoming a box-office smash hit, Top Gun then went on to win an Academy Award for Best Original Song for Berlin's "Take My Breath Away."

According to the official website, Fandango celebrates the iconic '80s movie with artist Rafael Bencosme. With the action flick known for showcasing its aviator battles, Bencosme puts together the flight helmets from the major characters.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, blockbuster producer Jerry Bruckheimer reveals he knew the film would be a hit if it connected with the right audiences, ""You know, movies about aviation had failed over and over again. There was a TV series prior to Top Gun coming out that didn't last more than a season. So, everybody was nervous that people don't want to watch airplanes or young pilots."

With the rumors swirling about a Top Gun 2, Cruise and Bruckheimer gave hope to a sequel when they marked their reunion with a selfie on Twitter. We can only dream what that would be like...
