Corneal tattooing is dangerous and painful, but when your body is not enough, tattooing your eyeballs is an option.

Rodrigo Fernando dos Santos, 39, "cried ink for two days," after getting his eyeballs tattooed black in his native Brazil, according to Brazilian blog, "The Local."

As a tattoo artist for more than seven years, Santos has more than 70 percent of his body covered in tattoos, but he wanted to get creative with his unique black eyeball tattoos.

The technique, called "eyeball tattoo", consists of injecting ink into the protection layer of the eye. The process is irreversible. For the Brazilian Society of Ophthalmology, the invasive procedure is not recommended and can cause internal inflammation, leading to vision loss, The Local reported.

Musquito was the 13th Brazilian to try the "eyeball tattoo" three weeks ago. He paid fellow inker Rafael Leao Dias nearly $500 to do the eyeball darkening.

Dias, who has studied eyeball tattooing for two years, said, ""We apply the ink between the conjunctiva and sclera layer that protects the eye. The law does not prohibit this, here or abroad. There is no risk or discomfort due to the use of specific eyewash."
