USA Network's Queen Of The South Teaser: Alice Braga New Character Profile Before Premiere!
Based on the popular telenovela from Telemundo, USA Network has released an all-new teaser before the premiere date for their version of La Reina Del Sur. In the the upcoming pilot of Queen of the South, starring Alice Braga, check out the latest character profile of "Batman!"
As we previously mentioned, based on the international hit by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, Queen Of The South tells the crime-ridden tale of Teresa Mendoza (Braga). Everything changes for Teresa when her drug-dealing boyfriend is unexpectedly murdered in Mexico. Forced to go on the run, Teresa seeks refuge in America.
Elsewhere in America, Mendoza will then team with an unlikely figure from her past. In her attempts to bring down the leader of the drug trafficking ring, she slowly learns the tools of the trade. How long before Teresa strategically positions herself to become the leader of the Cartel?
Before the highly anticipated premiere on June 21st, USA has released the character profile video of Cesar "Batman" Guemes. The devious cartel lieutenant is played by Gerardo Taracena (Apocalypto). The upcoming crime drama is executive produced by David T. Friendly, M.A. Fortin and Joshua John Miller. Scott Rosenbaum serves as showrunner, with the pilot written by Fortin and Miller, directed by Charlotte Sieling and executive produced by Pancho Mansfield.
According to Indie Wire, another promo has also surfaced featuring the drug trade matriarch in all her glory. If you've seen the original, this critic loves the gender switch as Veronica Falcon takes over as Camila Vargas. In the opening, Teresa warns in her narration, "There's a flower that grows in the darkness. You are one of those flowers, so you may as well bloom, because it's going to be dark for a while."
