Twitter Music App: New #Music App Release Promises to “Change The Way People Find Music” Through Tweets, Twitter Activity
Twitter will release its much-hyped #music app for both web and mobile devices on Thursday, according to the social media site's official blog.
Twitter claims the app will "change the way people find music" by using Twitter activity to detect and bring forth the most popular songs and up-and-coming artists at any particular moment.
The app will also promote musicians' Twitter activity and users can then go to the artist's profile, find out who the musicians are listening to and then hear those songs, as well. Users can also tweet songs from the app.
The songs on the #music app come from iTunes, Spotify and Rdio. Users will hear previews from iTunes by default but Spotify and Rdio subscribers will be able to log into their accounts also.
Twitter recently bought We Are Hunted, the company that was working on #music, according to an article on Rolling Stone's website.
