Last week's episode of NBC's new crime thriller, Hannibal, was the second of the season and definitely followed what the premiere laid out for the viewers. Will (Hugh Dancy) continues to see Lecter for therapy because he does not know how to deal with killing the serial killer from episode one (Garrett Jacob Hobbs). Of course, since it is Will Graham we are talking about, everything is a little heightened and very different than most people. That is exactly why Hannibal continues to help him in episode two, "Amuse-Bouche." But where does last week's episode lead us for tonight's "Potage," the third of the season?

In the first episode we are introduced to Will Graham, an introvert who suffers from some sort of Aspergers syndrome. We are also introduced to a modern take on the legendary Hannibal Lecter (played beautifully by Mads Mikkelsen). Will is brought back to the FBI but his therapist, Dr. Bloom, thinks it is too soon. FBI agent Jack Crawford things he is ready. Bloom was right.

In "Amuse-Bouche," Will is dealing with having killed the serial killer Hobbs. The struggle stays with him for the whole episode as he tries to track down another serial killer who plants comatose victims in the ground in order to grow a special kind of fungus garden.

Did I forget to tell you that this primetime television series is pretty gory? Well, it's about literatures most famous cannibal, so it kind of comes with the territory.

Also, a tabloid reporter, Freddie Lounds (who is female unlike the Lounds from the "Red Dragon" novel) is snooping around a little too much. She even follows Graham to his therapy session with Lecter. But Hannibal knows exactly what she is there for and stays suspicious of her. Lounds manages to tip off the serial killer because of her blog. She manages to help out, though, when this week's killer tells her to send Graham a message.

Will has been staying in the room of Abigail Hobbs, the daughter of the serial killer he shot to death. She suffered a traumatic knife wound to the throat. Will feels responsible for her, but she is also a suspect in helping her father commit the murders.

This week's serial killer, a pharmacist, finds out about Abigail and wants to help Graham connect with her. He decides to plant her in his garden. Fortunately will gets to her in time and wounds the killer.

The episode ends with Graham telling Lecter that he is afraid that he will end up liking killing and therefore sympathizing with murderers.

INCREDIBLE SIDE NOTE: In each episode, Lecter is maybe feeding his FBI friends people without their knowledge.

So what should we expect tonight? Here is a preview clip of "Potage":
