Former 98 Degrees singer and Jessica Simpson's ex husband Nick Lachey is making some interesting accusations. However, Lachey's accusations have nothing to do with Simpson. Lachey was recently interviewed by Details Magazine where he hinted that ex flame Kim Kardashian used him to gain popularity. Lachey even speculated that Kim may have tipped off paparazzi to where they were going on dates.

Nick Lachey, who recently told ABC News that he and wife Vanessa Lachey will actually leave Hollywood for his home state of Ohio once their 7-month-old son Camden gets a little older, spoke with Details Magazine about his new album A Father's Lullaby. However, it is the news surrounding Kim Kardashian that is making all the headlines.

Kim suggested in her 2010 book "Kardashian Konfidential" that it was her dates with Lachey that helped launch her popularity. "It started when I went out on a date with Nick Lachey,' Kim wrote in the book. "Of course the paparazzi took pictures, because people were curious about who he was with." Popular belief would suggest that Kim's sex tape is what launched her name into the public eye, but maybe it's her use of the paparazzi instead.

Lachey suggests in the May issue of Details Magazine (via The Daily Mail) that Kim may have tipped off photographers of their location when on a date. "Let's just say this: We went to a movie. No one followed us there. Somehow, mysteriously, when we left, there were 30 photographers waiting outside. There are certain ways to play this game, and some people play it well." Lache was reportedly referencing a 2006 movie date with Kim.

If what Nick is speculating is true, that would mean Kim may need to thank not only Nick, but Jessica Simpson for playing a part in her rise to fame.
