Google India Launches Public WI-FI Expansion Back to Back With Offline Youtube
A particular event opens a door for Google's new plans to serve better India and its people, focusing on two aspects: for data usage and language support. As of now, India is the world's third largest Internet user after US and China and this event is held as the tribute to Indian subscribers, Google now launch public WI-FI expansion and offline Youtube for Indian citizens.
"While most of the today's launches focus on Google users in India... It gives us better ideas that work for everyone." Google said in a post.
According to Aaron Souppouris report from EnGadget, Google highlighted the work it has done so far to reduce the need for high-speed data then. While Google's Vice President of Chrome, Rahul Ro-Chowdhury said, " Indian users save 337TB of data usage each week, and that is brought by Chrome's data saver feature."
On the other hand, Youtube is one of the biggest bandwidth eaters in the world. And to date, Google announced an expansion of the video portal's offline feature is now set for India through an app called Youtube Go.
Youtube Go is an app which will allow users fine control of video downloads. Plus, it then offers a broad range of options for video quality and download time it will consume. Also, it has free via Bluetooth social sharing. What's more interesting is that it will only use little data as possible.
As reported from Money CNN, in addition to Offline Youtube App, Google will also launch more WI-FI hotspots all over the city. Indian Railways and RailTel will support them to install Wi-Fi access points for more than 50 stations across India. It will proceed in progress with the new program created under Google called, Google Station.
To give Indian's a bonus; Google will also add a Hindi language support for Google Assistant. Most notable this new feature will let users gain opportunity with Google in a conversational way to form search, queries and digital tasks. "Smart Replies" is also powered by this Google Assistant.
