GoPro has recently unveiled its new flagship products, the GoPro Hero5 Black and the compact Hero5 Session. While GoPro proudly said that the Black and Session will have entirely new features, users agree that these are long overdue. But GoPro has a comeback for users with their new Karma Grip and GoPro Plus their new cloud service.

According to an Engadget report, the new features of the GoPro Hero5 Black and Session hint that the company is serious in improving user experience. The Hero5 Session is capable of shooting 4K and 2.7K video and has a variety options when it comes to frame rates.

This compact camera on the go has an improved voice command feature and electronic image stabilization. The report only cited two flaws: a short battery life and an inconvenient small display screen which makes it hard to navigate through the gadget menu.

The GoPro Hero5 Black on the other hand features improved touch screen features, voice command navigation, improved photo modes and is waterproof to a certain level even without a case. However, more features drain its batteries faster and is not compatible with old GoPro accessories.

GAMENGUIDE also came up with a review of the new GoPro flagship action cameras, stating that the Hero5 Black stands out with its GPS features. A user can automatically place his location on the pictures that he takes but none of the speed and height measures present in a Garmin.

Voice control is both new for the Black and Session and this allows users to start and stop recording, set tags, take photos in burst mode, change modes and so on. Voice control is ideal when the user has the camera mounted on his head, his bicycle or anywhere out of reach. This is available in seven languages such as German, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, French, Japanese and UK and US English.

There are now more apps to use with the new GoPro Hero5 Black and Session. The main app is now called Captur with almost the same functions with improved pairing and Wi-Fi connection features. No need to remember passwords, Captur will find it and connect instantly.

The GoPro Hero5 Black is currently priced at $399 while the GoPro Hero5 Session is available for $299.
