Re-imagined Lion King added to Disney's Live-Action lineup
Yes indeed, one of the most beloved Disney classic 'Lion King' is now added to the Live-Action lineup as announced in a press release with Walt Disney Studios.
If you happen to grow up in the 90's your heart was probably touched by a little lion cub who was tricked into believing that the death of his father was his fault by a deceitful uncle who had his eyes on being the King of their lion pride. The announced live action is said to be a re-imagination of the Disney classic story, and with screenplay writer Jeff Nathanson on the job. We can be sure expect something spectacular, after all his works include amazing accomplishments such as 'Catch Me If You Can' (starring Leonardo Dicaprio), 'Indiana Jones', 'The Terminal' and the upcoming 'Pirates of the Caribbean' sequel (Dead Men Tell No Tales).
The director for the 'Lion King' live action is said to be Jon Favreau, announced by the man himself when tweeting out to the world this post.
Director Jon Favreau had tremendous success with his recent Dinsey live action take on "The Jungle Book" earning a whopping $968.5 million in box office worldwide. The director also made gigantic success producing all 3 movies of Marvel's Iron Man and Chef (starring himself, Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson).
This amazing tag team may just be enough to fill the shoes of The Lion King's beloved classic animated film. So far there are no official news as to when the live action Lion King will be released but was said according to GameSpot that this film is being "fast tracked".
But before we get too excited with the Lion King remake, let's not forget the other exciting Disney movies soon to hit the cinema. Such as Moana (starring Auli'i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson) premiering on November 30 and live action Beauty and the Beast (with Emma Watson and Dan Stevens) to be released on 17th of march, 2017.
