New Nintendo NX News: Console/Handheld Gadget Available in Two Models with NVIDIA Processor

October 20, 10 a.m. EST, Nintendo announced a completely new console that will surely make avid console and handheld gamers happy. Introducing the Nintendo Switch, a part handheld, part console gadget that will simply be called the NX.

The Switch has been leaked for a year now but this is the first time that the gaming giant has publicly talked about the device. Nintendo announced the Switch via Twitter

According to Gizmodo, actual specs of the Nintendo NX are not yet available. What is known at the moment are its gaming features and how it is actually used through the eyes of a gamer. The actual video of the NX featured a small handheld device with a 6 to 7-inch wide colored monitor.

If the user wants to play the NX through his television, the device will be placed in a docking station called a "Nintendo Switch Dock." If used on the go, the user simply lifts the NX out of the dock and it will become a portable device. The detachable controllers are found on ether side of the Switch.

The Switch is available in two models. One is a traditional controller called the Switch Pro and the other is a controller called the Joy-Con. The latter can be broken into pieces; each half can be used as game controllers.  The halves are on both ends of the Switch to make a large mobile gaming device or these may be used wirelessly with the Switch monitor.

Game Spot mentioned a press release from Nintendo saying that two players can each take one Joy-Con controller or multiple controllers may be used by numerous players. This is perfect for games with multiple gaming options.

Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime mentioned in a statement that the Switch will provide game developers new abilities to bring out their creativity. The Switch was also described as a device that will open up gaming without boundaries.

With an Nvidia custom Tegra processor, the Switch will surely have amazing response times. As of the moment, more than 50 publishers will make their games available through the NX. Just some of the game titles that were reported to be available on the Switch are "NBA 2K," "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and "Mario Kart."

The Nintendo NX will be available in the market in March 2017.
