Dropkick Murphys 'For Boston' Shirts [PHOTO]: Celtic Punk Band Raises Over $100,000 for Marathon Bombing Victims, Return Home From Tour Soon
There are plenty of reports out there that talk about people seemingly trying to capitalize on the tragedy of the Boston Marathon bombing by selling merchandise to commemorate the event. That is why it is refreshing to hear about the band Dropkick Murphys and how much money they have raised for the victims of the bombing by selling a t-shirt on their website. The shirt is simple enough, reading "For Boston" above a picture of the city and on the back it explains what the money the purchaser just spent on the shirt is going towards.
The back of the shirt reads:
"Thank you to all who purchased this shirt. All proceeds go to the victims and families of the Boston Marathon Bombings. Love, Dropkick Murphys"
These "For Boston" shirts were available for purchase starting on Wednesday and the band kept fans up to date on the milestones the sale had made through Twitter:
This last tweet says that they cannot wait to get back to their New England homes. These shirts are set to ship on April 30 and are even available in United Kingdom, more parts of Europe, and Australia. Dropkick Murphys are also planning to start other fundraising ventures for the Boston Marathon bombing victims.
