Robert Downey Jr.'s "Sherlock Holmes 3": Script takes shape
One of Robert Downey Jr.'s most popular character aside from "Iron Man" where he plays an arrogant genius happens to be his portrayal of Warner Bros' "Sherlock Holmes" who also happens to be an arrogant genius.
Although the 'Iron Man' star had hoped to start the 'Sherlock Holmes 3' filming this year, his schedule proved to be too busy finishing the shoot for "Avengers: Infinity War". This pushes plans for filming to take place in 2017 with a possible release of the third"Sherlock Holmes" sequel in 2018. But until then, the scriptwriting process continues.
"Sherlock Holmes" director Guy Ritchie and film star Robert Downey Jr. brings in scriptwriter Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Gary Whitta (Star Wars: Rogue One) according to Comingsoon, along with the new comers the scriptwriting team consists of Geneva Dworet-Robertson (who is also working on a pre production of Tomb Raider in 2018), Kieran Fitzgerald, and Justin Malen (Baywatch to be released in 2017). Producers for "Sherlock Holmes 3" includes Susan Downey, Dan Lin, Joel Silver, and Lionel Wigram.
So far in the cast Slashfilm confirms the return of Jude Law are his character of Dr. John Watson who plays side by side with Detective Holmes. Also rumored to make a comeback in the film is Rachel McAdams player Irene Adler. Since production starts later on there hasn't been an official release of cast members yet, nor a release date for the film.
