Pompeo wants a fire-fighting Magic Mike on Grey’s Anatomy
Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo has expressed how she wants to have Magic Mike and Jump Street lead Channing Tatum , along with wife Jenna Dewan, to be part of the show. This has been a recurring request by the actress, who, in February, even sent a tweet to showrunner Shonda Rhimes about the possibility of Tatum being cast as a firefighter rescuing Taylor Swift and Dewan.
Speaking of cast, there are reports circulating that the show would be losing another cast member, Justin Chambers. Several hints are being dropped regarding the departure of Alex Karev, the character Chambers is playing, in the show's 13th season. As ITech Post indicates, in one episode, Dr. Karev placed his job on the line by fighting for his patient. This incident led to felony charges to be filed against Karev, and court proceedings followed.
Another big hint was dropped during the conversation between him and Meredith, played by Pompeo. When she asked about how the court proceedings went, according to Counsel & Heal, he responded by saying it was fine, then said "I wanna waffle Sundays. Every Sunday, I want to do waffles- all of us like a family. For as long as we can." No confirmation has been given regarding the hints, or of Chambers leaving the ABC program.
Additional casting news reveals that Leah Murphey, played by Tessa Ferrer, will be added to the cast. This goes against early rumors that Sandra Oh will be reprising her role as Dr. Cristina Yang on season 13 of the hit hospital drama.
Back to having Tatum and Dewan as guests for the show, while no confirmation has been made by either Tatum or Rhimes, no denial has been made as well. As of the moment, only time will tell if the couple would indeed visit the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
