‘Madam Secretary’ Season 3 Episode 5, ‘The French Revolution’ Recap
Another episode of "Madam Secretary" was aired on Sunday titled "The French Revolution." Episode 5 of "Madam Secretary" Season 3 provided two story arcs, one is finding out who the stalker of the family is and the other, is the election.
As recapped by Celeb Dirty Laundry, the show started where it left off in the previous episode with Henry (Tim Daly) and Jose (Carlos Gomez) worried of their asset Cecile (Lyne Renee), whom they thought was abducted by terrorists. Later they found out that Cecile was caught by the French authorities for questioning and had no idea she was working for the Americans.
On the other hand, Elizabeth (Tea Leoni) and her team were preparing for a US- France state dinner. When news that an American asset was caught working in Algeria and the French was not informed prior, the purpose of the state dinner might be jeopardize. The purpose was to get donors among the dinner's attendees, for President Dalton's (Keith Carradine) campaign.
Madam Secretary, Elizabeth, had to bargain hard for the release of the asset. At one point the French asked to decrease their NATO payment by 5% and Elizabeth fired back with a threat to arrest all the French spies in American soil. Elizabeth's team worked hard to find a way to smooth things over with the French.
Cecile was indeed released and she called Henry and Jose to inform them that she met with someone named Bouseed who was being groomed to be the next leader of HS. They have to settle things with the French because they have information on Bouseed.
Later, Elizabeth met with the French Prime Minister and swoon him with a bottle of cognac and invited France to be a member of the Five Eyes Alliance. She also promised to share all US' intelligence about terrorism. The French Prime Minister was impressed with Elizabeth's offer and promised to talk to President Perrin about it.
The next day, Henry and Jose met with the French authorities and worked together to attack Bouseed in Algeria which was a success. All the artifacts that HS was planning to sell were taken and they got lots of new intel about the terrorists.
In this episode of "Madam Secretary" Season 3, the stalker of the McCords had finally been caught. It was reported by Parent Herald last week that rumors have been circulating that the culprit could just be Jason McCord (Evan Roe). It was revealed that the stalker's name was Ron Jameway.
In the end the state dinner happened. Elizabeth had accused Burton that he employed Ron Jameway to stalk her family. Burton got upset and told President Dalton that he is withdrawing his support because of Elizabeth's allegations. The President told Burton that if he is choosing sides, it will be Elizabeth's. Dalton then made it clear that he is cutting his ties with Burton.
