'Watch Dogs 2' News & Update: Online multiplayer gets major glitches during launch day
Ubisoft's "Watch Dogs 2" is coming out today on the PS4 and Xbox One but the anticipated online multiplayer won't be fully playable due to major glitches. As it turns out, the online multiplayer has a lot of issues including crashes and unexplainable lags.
The feature has been offline last weekend and it is not known when it will be available. The PC version of "Watch Dogs 2" has been delayed at the end of this month on November 29.
"Watch Dogs 2" Online Multiplayer Major Glitches and Issues
Ubisoft released a statement explaining that the major glitches on the multiplayer feature of "Watch Dogs 2" were discovered during the pre-launching of the game. The issues may have been sizeable as the gaming company was forced to take the feature offline in order for them to bid time to create a patch to fix it.
"Watch Dogs 2" What Features Work and What Don't
According to Ubisoft, players can still enjoy "Watch Dogs 2" but only by playing other modes. They reiterated that the single-player mode can be played without issues and the same goes with the co-op feature where players can invite friends to play with.
However, features that require going online like the Bounty-Hunter mode or partnering with random co-op partners are not available yet until the glitches of the "seamless" online feature has been patched. Players who choose the modes that have been rendered disabled will not be able to play but will instead receive a message where searching for players nearby will fail to connect.
In the ongoing review by GameSpot, they reported that their players have experienced the major glitches in the online multiplayer feature. They added that restarting the game and or the system was the only way to get it back to work again.
