'Lie Witness News' [VIDEO] 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' Tricks Coachella 2013 Festival Fans with Fake Band Names

Though the 2013 Coachella Festival is officially over as of yesterday, Jimmy Kimmel managed to give fans at least one more taste of the popular music and arts event. Unfortunately, his "Jimmy Kimmel Live" segment entitled "Lie Witness News" pretty much just showed us the worst part of the festival: young adults trying to seem cool on camera. In this segment, a correspondent for Kimmel asks random hipster-types if they have heard of, seen, are excited about certain bands. The bands that they ask about are completely made up, though.

During his opening monologue, Kimmel introduced the segment saying:

"Music fans in general love knowing about bands that no one else has ever heard of. So we decided to conduct an experiment. We sent a camera crew to Coachella and we asked people walking into the venue what they thought of a bunch of bands whose names we made up, okay? These bands are so obscure that they do not exist. Except for one name you'll hear here, we made all of them up but that didn't stop people from saying they knew them in tonight's special Coachella addition of "Lie Witness New."

Here is the list of the made up band names (not including Two Door Cinema Club, which is actually a band):

Dr. Schlomo and the G.I. Clinic

Shorty Jizzle and the Plumber Cracks

The Obesity Epidemic

Get the F**ck Out of My Pool

The Chelsea Clintons

It was particularly hilarious to see how blatant these lies were. "I'm really excited to see them live," is clearly just not true.  These lies were pretty detailed.

The clip ends with the "reporter" asking a tall white male with an American India n headdress and face paint if he knew that "Coachella is actually the American Indian word for 'dumb white guy.'"
