Jim Parsons Leaving 'The Big Bang Theory' for New Sitcom?

Jim Parsons, who plays the character of a socially awkward but genius Caltech theoretical physicist Dr. Sheldon Lee Cooper, is set to embark another project.

According to Radio Times, "The Normal Heart" actor Jim Parsons decided to extend his knowledge in the world of television by participating in a new project called "Lance 2.0".

In the said report, Jim Parsons together with Eric Norsoph, writer Alex McAulay, and his longtime partner Todd Spiewak, they will team up to create a new comedy series titled "Lance 2.0".

"Lance 2.0" is a story of a young couple who will face a tragedy. The plot will revolve around how the couple deals with the effect of the accident.

As the result of the said tragedy, the boyfriend will change; his personality will be affected and he will also lose his impulse control.

Moreover, the 43-year-old actor Jim Parsons will work behind the scene as the show's executive producer alongside with Spiewak, Norsoph, and McAulay.

McAulay penned the pilot episode of "Lance 2.0".

On the other hand, this is not Jim Parsons first time to work behind the scenes. The actor is already involved in multiple shows.

Aside from "The Big Bang Theory" spinoff, where his character Sheldon will be the sole focus of the upcoming series, he is also playing a key role in the ABCs hospital comedy series "Lakeside VA" as an executive producer.

Adding on to his impressive CV, he is also an executive producer of The CWs "The Terranauts" and Freeform's "The Monarch Is Going to Sh*t".

Meanwhile, Variety reports that updates from Jim Parsons "The Big Bang Theory" spinoff indicate that the show will feature a young version of Sheldon, a 12-year-old boy to be exact.

Further information about the upcoming spinoff remains hidden behind Warner Bros. TV production.
