Tate Stevens, the season 2 winner of 'X Factor USA' has just released his debut country album on Tuesday, April 23rd! The self-titled record, Tate Stevens, features the singer's first hit single "Power of a Love Song" plus ten other soon-to-be country anthems.

The 38-year-old country crooner from Belton, MO wasted no time after winning the most recent 'X Factor' season, as he began writing and recording his album as soon as the show ended back in December.

"We had to jump on the momentum of the show," Steven tells The Hollywood Reporter. "I didn't want people forgetting -- you know, 'that's the fat ugly guy who won that show,'" he adds with a chuckle.

Stevens, the "normal guy" who decided to follow his dreams, wrote three of the songs on the album, notes CMT. He also played the second of two album release concerts in Kansas City, Mo., on Monday night.

Tate was a frontrunner on the Fox reality singing competition from the beginning, thanks to his solid fan-base, called 'Tate Nation,' whose votes helped consistently place the singer from the show's "Over 25" category in the top two each week. Mentored by music producer LA Reid, Tate and his cowboy hat made it all the way into the final two, where Stevens ultimately beat out the 2012 runner-up singer, Carly Rose Sonenclar, and landed a $5 million recording contract with Syco Music and RCA Records Nashville, states THR.

After winning the singing competition back in December of 2012, the season 2 winner put out his debut album faster than the first 'X Factor USA' winner, Melanie Amaro, who has yet to release a full debut album since being crowned in 2011.

"It was tough," Stevens allows. "It was a lot of work, but it's awesome. It was a great experience and I think we've done a really good job on this album of letting people know who I am as an artist. I'm really proud of it and I'm very excited."

The album's lead single, "Power Of A Love Song," was released to country radio earlier this month, states Tate's website. Written by Jeremy Bussey, Bradley Gaskin, and Marcus Franklin Johnson, "Power Of A Love Song," encompasses a traditional country sound that solidifies Stevens' authenticity in the genre as he makes his highly-anticipated debut.
