Steve Busemi, Vampire Weekend Go Bowling [VIDEO]: Actor Directing 'American Express Unstaged' Concert Promotes Show with Band
In the latest promotional video installment of Steve Buscemi and Vampire Weekend promoting their concert collaboration, "American Express Unstaged," the famed actor and the band hit the subway and a bowling alley to hand out concert flyers. Of course they decide to get a few bowls in while at the bowling alley, so we even get to hear a Big Lebowski reference. Do you think this grassroots marketing will get a good crowd for the April 28th show at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City?
Buscemi is set to direct the concert that will be closing out the Tribeca Film Festival, and the "Boardwalk Empire" star is very hands-on with his work. Though it seems like he is trying to promote himself (the flyers have his name taking up most of the page space), he tries his darndest to talk up Vampire Weekend.
A few people seem to recognize the name of the band and one woman points out, "Who doesn't like vampires?" So it looks like the flyering might be working.
Watch the video here and check out some Buscemi bowling advice, awkward looks and plain confusion:
