Dell updates XPS 13, turns it into a 2-in-1 edgeless beauty
Laptop manufacturer Dell unveiled its XPS 13 laptop early last year. The laptop was lauded as being brilliant especially given its versatile specifications that came packed in an extremely smart-looking, sleek design.
Computer World reported that the company is all set to introduce an upgraded version of its XPS 13 laptop. This time, the laptop is expected to feature an edge-to-edge design and it appears like the laptop won't come cheap.
The starting price of the XPS 13 edgeless laptop is expected to be approximately US$999 (approximately Rs 68,000). The same report by Computer World suggests that the shipping of the smartphone will begin in the month of January and an additional cost of $200 will charged for the shipping of the device.
According to The Verge, the XPIS 13 2-in-1 laptop holds a resemblance with the previous XPS 13 laptop that was unveiled last year. Additionally, the company has changed the hinge connecting the keyboard base and screen. The screen can reportedly be rotated to over 360 degrees and users can use the laptop as a tablet as well.
The XPS 13 2-in-1 weighs approximately 1.24 kilograms and sports a sleek design with its 13.3-inch edge-to-edge screen. The company claims that the laptop boasts of a better battery life than the previous version. The XPS 2-in-1 laptop ranges between 9 to 15 hours. This certainly depends on how the users make use of it. The device comes packed with a 7th generation Intel Core i5-7Y54 or Core i7-7Y75 processor. Additionally, an Intel integrated GPU that supports 4K graphics play-back may also come included in the laptop.
The report published by Computer World suggests that the device has inherited certain weaknesses as well. For instance, the webcam problem wherein the camera has an infrared camera and webcam that is located under the screen. The company has posted a teaser image on their official website. However, no details regarding the laptop's launch or specifications have been unveiled yet.
