Ahead of CES 2017, Asus Zenfone AR Google Tango Phone revealed
Smartphone maker Asus is all set to launch its first and world's second smartphone supporting Google Tango augmented reality technology.
The smartphone, Zenfone AR was confirmed by Qualcomm in a blog post and has also appeared in the leaked renders by some popular tipsters. The device is set to be revealed on 4th January at a pre-CES 2017 event.
As mentioned in the blog post, the Asus Zenfone AR will feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 processor under-the-hood. It'll be the first smartphone in the world to support both Google Tango and Daydream capabalities.
The Zenfone Ar consisting of Snapdragon 821 is built for VR with high-resolution display, ultra-smooth graphics and high-fidelity sensors for precise head-tracking. Snapdragon 821 provides the cutting-edge visual, audio and interactive technologies required to deliver fabulous mobile VR experience for the leading Android smartphones.
The smartphone as revealed will include Google Street View (DayDream version), apart from having Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, HBO and some video games, such as Gunjack 2, NFS and Fantastic Beasts.
A well-known tipster Evan Blass also posted an image showing the press render of the Zenfone AR phone. The smartphone from the front looks similar to Zenfone 3 models, but this one has a different camera module at the back. The setup includes a dual camera setup with a dual-tone LED.
It was back in November of last year company's CEO Jerry Shen, had said that Zenfone AR will feature advanced functionality and performance will be high, the prices too will challenge the market.
One of the main features of Google Tango is that it allows users to see virtual features, colligate on real-life objects through the phone's display. With this software in place, users can also measure objects, they can see how it looks in real world and play with virtual pets amongst other activities.
The smartphone also combines 3D-motion tracking with depth sensors to deliver an elevated reality experience.
