K-pop fans believe that 2016 was the worst year for K-pop. While it is true that it was a year loaded with some of the best K-pop debuts like Black Pink and NCT, it was sadly outweighed by the large number of K-pop acts that suffered from members leaving the group or just total disbandment.

Among of those groups who disbanded was YG Entertainment's official girl group, 2NE1, who announced their official disbandment in November 2016 when Minzy decided to leave YG Entertainment. Before that, 2NE1 has not done anything notable since 2014. Though they did surprise everyone with a performance in the 2015 MNET Asian Music Awards and performed their two biggest hit songs "Fire" and "I Am the Best."

In a report by Inquisitr, Blackjacks (what avid fans of 2NE1 call themselves) will be blessed with one final song, a song to thank all K-pop fans, a farewell track titled "Good Bye." This was first reported on Korean news outlets like Naver and Nate on Thursday, January 5 KST. According to the reports, CL, Dara and Bom were flown overseas to film a music video in complete secrecy on Tuesday, January 3 but without Minzy as she is unfortunately already signed on with a new agency.

"Good Bye" was reportedly produced by J. Gramm and K and written by "Rook Monroe" Watkins who also co-wrote Rihanna's ANTI anthem "Desperado" and Kid Ink's "Nasty", according to Pop Crush.

Given that the song is titled "Good Bye", all K-pop fans cannot expect an upbeat, party song like what 2NE1 always release but rather a slow, more heartfelt song that would surely pull on your heartstrings and is certain to bring you flashbacks of their [2NE1] early years.

The song is expected to be released later this month on January 21.
