16 People Arrested Over Kim Kardashian Robbery Case
Around 16 people have been arrested over the robbery case of Kim Kardashian, according to recent reports. French media reveal that DNA traces picked up off the tape was used to tie up the star in a Paris apartment in October which led to police suspects.
According to a French Broadcaster LCI, the alleged burglars include old figures of the French mob and organized this crime. There were few who got picked up in the early morning raids across France including many in their fifties and a 72-year-old man.
Kardashian was robbed around €10m worth of jewelry when a gang of masked men burst into her apartment during Paris Fashion Week.
Most of them got arrested when they were picked up in the Paris area, but raids were carried out in the Seine-Maritime and Alpes-Maritimes region. A jeweler is also believed to have been searched.
This search operation was carried out with the co-operation of Banditry Repression Brigade of French Police- a special unit in charge of armed robberies.
The robberies were wearing ski masks and dressed as a Police, broke into Kardashian's apartment at around 3 am on the 3rd October and held her at a gunpoint before tying her up and locking in the bathroom.
They were let into the building that was near the historic Madeleine church in the 8th Arrondissement by the building's concierge. A police source revealed a jewelry box that had a ring worth €4m (£3.5m) had been taken along with other valuables worth between €5m and €6m (£4.4m - £5.2m).
In the new series of Keeping Up with The Kardashians, she described the moment she was attacked saying through tears that "They're going to shoot me in the back. There is no escape."
The apartment where Kim was staying is reportedly has a cost up to €15,000 (£13,000) a night. She also stayed at that place before she was married to Kayne West in 2014.
