Meryl Streep's speech at the Golden Globes was one of the most stirring speeches, but not everyone liked her it, in which the Cecil B. DeMille Award recipient took aim at the President-elect of US Donald Trump.

After an introduction about her by Viola Davis, the 67-year-old Oscar winner Streep talked about the diversity in Hollywood community and called out the self-proclaimed billionaire for mocking a disabled reporter. She further said about the instinct to humiliate, when it's modeled by someone on the public platform, it filters down into everybody's life, because it kind of gives permission for other people to do the same thing.

Trump, meanwhile quickly dismissed Streep as a Hillary lover in a brief interview with the NewYork Times early on Monday. In a phone call with the journal, The US President-elect said he had not watched the award show or heard Streep's speech but added he was not surprised that he was attacked by "liberal movie people."

He also denied the fact that he was mocking The Times reporter she referred to Serge F. Kovaleski. Back in July, Trump performed an unflattering impression of the journalist, who suffers from a congenital joint condition, at a South Carolina rally.

He further said that people keep repeating that he intended to mock the reporter, but he wasn't mocking him. Instead, he moaned saying as if Meryl Streep and others could read his mind.

He then took to Twitter to blast Streep for her speech, some commentators of his tweet guessed that Trump's comments to The Times would not only be thoughts about Streep. Instead, they wrote they were looking forward to reading his middle-of-the-night tweets.

But there were others who felt that her speech was for politicizing at an award function for TV and film.
