Lola Kirke sports custom made 'F*ck Paul Ryan' pin amid Planned Parenthood defunding
Meryl Streep wasn't the only celebrity who made a stand against a politician at the recently held Golden Globes, as "Mozart in the Jungle" actress Lola Kirke also sported her brand of defiance with a subtle accessory.
The actress wore a floral pink gown by Andrew Gn which wowed at the red carpet but it was the matching accessory that caught the public's attention, The Huffington Post reported .
Nestled on the upper left side of the gown was an equally pink pin with the words "F**k Paul Ryan," on it. Kirke's statement pin was her response to the proposal of the House Speaker to shut down funding for Planned Parenthood facilities in the US.
"Paul Ryan is talking about defunding Planned Parenthood. I think that, along with a number of other decisions that are being talked about being made by the new administration, is atrocious. As a person with a platform, no matter what size it is, I think it's important to share your views and maybe elevate people that might agree with you, that maybe won't feel like they can have the same voice. My body my choice, your body your choice," she said in an article from The Hollywood Reporter.
It was actually not the first time that Kirke wore the pin as she also wore the accessory in two other events, the BAFTA Tea Party and W! Magazine's It Girl luncheon.
The pin was especially made for Kirke by her stylist Susan Winget and represented the colors of Planned Parenthood that the star was supporting.
Since they are custom made, they could not be purchased just anywhere unlike anti Trump merchandise which have been proliferating in the market ever since he first announced his plans to run for public office.
A Bustle article suggested those who want to copy Lola's style to make their own project of it by using button makers.
