Danica Patrick Divorce: Go Daddy's Race Car Driving Spokeswoman Officially 'Single' After Finalizing Split With Husband, Still Dating Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
NASCAR racer Danica Patrick's divorce from husband Paul Hospenthal has officially been confirmed. The Go Daddy model and championship racer is officially single, as in unmarried. Sorry guys, she is still dating fellow racer Ricky Stenhouse Jr. The 31-year-old filed for divorce in January and it was finalized on April 17. Married in 2005, Patrick and Hospenthal, a physical therapist who is 17 years her senior, were married in 2005 and have no children.
Danica announced her divorce from Hospenthal on her Facebook page back in November of 2012. She wrote:
"I am sad to inform my fans that after 7 years, Paul and I have decided to amicably end our marriage. This isn't easy for either of us, but mutually it has come to this. He has been an important person and friend in my life and that's how we will remain moving forward."
The two met when Danica sought physical therapy treatment for an injury. During their marriage, Paul had become a core member of Danica's business team. "I learned a lot about business from him and am grateful for that," she said of her now-ex-husband's contribution as a member of her inner circle.
In February, Danica became the first woman to win Sprint Cup pole and lead laps at the Daytona 500. In an interview with USA TODAY Sports, Patrick said, "This isn't easy for either of us, but mutually it has come to this. He has been an important person and friend in my life and that's how we will remain moving forward."
Though she was guarded and candid with her relationship with Hospenthal, Danica has been very approachable and open about her recent relationship with Stenhouse. She announced their relationship soon after filing her divorce papers and has even publically called the fellow racer "quite adorable."
