‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Volume 2 news & update: 4 things we know about Ayesha
With the success of its first installment in 2014, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 has undoubtedly become one of the most anticipated superhero movies of 2017. Last year it was announced that Elizabeth Debecki will be playing as the movies anti-hero Ayesha.
But despite the trailers, there are still a lot of details kept hidden from fans, including what to expect from 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E.' star Elizabeth Debecki's role as Ayesha. Aside from the promotional toy images have given the fans a peek at the character's design seen on Twitter, as reported by Movie Pilot, there is still a lot of mystery surrounding the film's villain.
But here are four things we already know about Ayesha so far in the comic books.
Ayesha is known in Various Names
Ayesha is a fictional super heroine character that appears in American comic books and exists in the main Marvel Universe. She has also many other names - Paragon, Kismet, and Her. Kismet was the name she took up during her escapades with Quasar. She was described by director James Gunn as the "golden High Priestess of a genetically-perfect people called the Sovereign. She's not a woman to be screwed with [.]" as reported by Inverse.
Her Previous Appearances
Ayesha appeared as Paragon in The Incredible Hulk Annual #6 and was created by Len Wein, David Kraft, and Herb Trimpe. She first appeared in Marvel Two-in-One as 'Her' and 'Kismet'. She then finally appeared as Ayesha for the first time in Fantastic Four Vol. 3 #11 in 1998.
Her Powers
Ayesha is very dominant in the comics, being an artificial being created through genetic engineering by the Enclave. She can tap, store, and even has an influence with cosmic energy which she also uses to enhance her physical features into superhuman levels and moreover her metabolism and life force.
How can she be beaten?
It is quite difficult to defeat Ayesha since she creates a cosmic energy cocoon in which she can rest and restore her strength by just sitting inside.
