'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8 Spoilers & Update: Sybil Torments Damon With Memories Of Elena

Fans can't wait to watch how "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 will come to an end. This epic saga has gone on for so long but up until now viewers have not witnessed the long awaited reunion between Ian Somerhalder's and Nina Dobrev's characters. The actress still hasn't confirmed her return to the series, however spoilers have it that Sybil will persistently taunt Damon with memories of Elena.

The latest "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 spoilers shows Elena's look alike Sybil haunting Damon. The teaser that was released for the latest episode greatly resembles that of Elena during the show's past seasons per TVLine. In here, Sybil dons a dress similar to that of Elena's while descending the staircase.

Avid viewers can recall that the midseason finale featured Damon ripping out Sybil's heart because he doesn't like Elena's necklace around her neck. But, apparently, Sybil is still very much alive and is planning her great revenge on Damon. Damon needs to watch his back if he wants any chance of reuniting with his beloved Elena possible in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8.

It looks like fans are still not giving up hope for an Elena-Damon reunion in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. But, Mark Pedowitz, The CW president didn't confirm nor deny Dobrev's return to the show for a final hoorah per Entertainment Weekly. But he assured fans that they will get a 'fantastic series finale' with or without Dobrev. In the past the show's creator Julie Plec said that Dobrev gave her word about returning for the season finale. So viewers will just have to wait and see if she'll make good on that promise.
