AMD officially revealed its upcoming Ryzen CPU during its New Horizon event in December 2016. Now, we have release date for the up and coming processor!

After a bit of digging around, WCCFTECH has found out that AMD apparently slipped and has plans to release the Ryzen processor on February 28, a day after Game Developers Conference 2017 (GDC) which is on  February 27.

Ryzen's entrance in the CPU market will be very troublesome. Gamers and developers will be looking forward for Intel's reaction now that they will be once again rivaled by AMD, which is by far cheaper than Intel's processors.

With the Ryzen CPU, AMD will be capable of going head to head with Intel once again. If the premium processing chip manufacturer [Intel] won't lower their CPU prices, they will live to see their market share being beaten to a pulp by AMD's Ryzen processors. With the 8 core going against the i7 processors, the quad-core version of the Ryzen will be the one that will break through the i3 and i5 processors of Intel.

The Ryzen will be able to offer very inexpensive performance in the server and in the enterprise market as well. Unlike games which are regularly not adjusted to handle large amounts of threads, the server and enterprise applications of the 8-core/16-thread. In other words, Intel's free supremacy is over and will be facing tangible opposition from AMD.

Digital Trends reports that AMD's timing absolutely makes sense. If they intend to launch Ryzen in the next six weeks, GDC 2017 would be a major opportunity to get developers on board and start distributing information about how to reap the benefits of the CPU.

While it may be possible that the release of the Ryzen may be delayed, we certainly have reason to believe that AMD's most recent CPU could be released before the end of February.
