Sony Xperia XA Successor: Leaked Renders Surface Online; Specs, Features Revealed
Last month, rumors were swirling around about a hardware claimed to be the successor to the Xperia XA. The device features some slight modifications and could possibly be the Xperia XA 2, or maybe the Xperia XB, whatever it ends up been called.
Recently, more photos based on the same rumors from last month have surfaced on the internet. The images are low resolution suggesting that they may have been taken from an unreleased promotional video or probably obtained illegally.
However, power key is replaced by a smaller one on the successor. The absence of a wide power key suggests that the model does not feature a fingerprint scanner, with the micro-USB port been replaced with a USB-C port. Additionally, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack on the flat top edge of the device. The photo displayed three shades/colors: navy blue, red and purple, according to Next Powerup.
The photo also revealed the mirrored positioning of proximity and light sensors for the upcoming device which are similar to those of the Xperia XA. The new Xperia mode features a slit at the bottom of the screen, which is indicative of the return of stereo speakers for the Xperia model.
The earlier leaked renders revealed the smartphone from the front and the back panel which showed the volume rocker and power buttons placed on the right side of the smartphone. The device featured curved sides on the back with a flat top and bottom.
Similar to the recently leaked photos, it also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack with no fingerprint sensor seen from the photo. Going by the renders, the device also has a front and rear cameras with LED flash visible at the back.
The leak also revealed that the smartphone will measure 145 x 66.8 x 7.99 mm with a 5-inch display and will also feature USB Type C just like the current leak, GSMArena reported.
These are mere speculations as there are no official updates with regards to the specs and features for the Xperia XA's successor. With all the rumors and alleged leaked photos swirling around, fans are optimistic that they will get positive and detailed information on the device at Sony's press event at MWC next month.
