The magnesium-lithium body will be lighter but at the same time, it will be expensive as compared to the conventional aluminum chassis.
The specifications for the new notebook have not been announced but it will be more powerful and power efficient compared to its predecessor. The alleged specs of the new notebook will include a 13.3-inch full HD display, a Kaby Lake Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM and a 512GB SSD for fast operations. Apart from that, Mi Notebook Air is expected to feature USB 3.1 ports, Bluetooth 4.1 and USB Type-C port for charging.
The original Mi Notebook Air gathered good reviews around the internet and provided stiff competition to big brands like HP, Dell and Apple. The original notebook also featured a metal shell and glass covered bezels enhancing the overall look, feel and finish of the notebook, as reported by UberGizmo. The upcoming notebook is expected to continue the legacy and will come up as a major player in the market for ultralight laptops.
The upcoming Mi Notebook Air is expected to be priced more than its predecessor because of the Magnesium-Lithium chassis and a better build quality. The device is expected to come in two variants - 13.3-inch and 12.5-inch. The 13.3-inch model will be priced at upwards of $750 and the 12.5-inch will cost more than $550.
