The Pro 4 successor draws near. Recent rumors say the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 could launch in March.

PC Advisor reports that the Microsoft Pro 4's successor could possibly come in this year's first quarter, most likely in March. The tech giant's fans are hoping that the company will announce the Pro 5's launch date during the MWC 2017 on Feb. 27.

The official release date for the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 has been in demand since the Pro 4 hit the market in 2015. The initial speculations for the Pro 5's release was on October 2016, but was proved to be a false rumor since Microsoft released the Surface Studio and the Surface Book i7 instead. And with this, the most recent rumors suggest that the most possible date for the Pro 5's release would be on March 2017, during the MWC to be held in Barcelona.

Considering that the substantial update to the Windows 10 dubbed Redstone 2 could also be launched early this year, a March 2017 release date for the Pro 5 actually makes a lot of sense. A March 2017 release for the Pro 5 could prove strategic since the dubbed Redstone 2 update for the Windows 10 is rumored for release in April.

Meanwhile, in terms of features and specs, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 could be armed to the teeth. Forbes reports that the Pro 5 could sport the latest processor by Intel, the Kaby Lake focused i7. It could also feature a 16GB RAM with 1TB of storage similar to its successor the Surface Pro 4. This would keep the Pro 5 on top of the market since the said specifications of the device are considered the optimal configuration.  The Pro 5 could also feature USB-C/Thunderbolt ports and an improved rechargeable Surface Pen that is rumored to support wireless charging. The Pro 5 could also feature a 4K display! Take that, Apple!

In the end, these are all just rumors, possibilities of when the Pro 5 could be released and what features it could sport.
