NVIDIA Volta Set To Introduce 12nm FinFET, Reports
NVIDIA is known for its cutting-edge graphic cards. Speculations suggest company might unveil its 12nm FinFET GPU (graphics processing units).Reports is rife that tech giant will soon come up with its new products. It is expected that NVIDIA's new GPUs will supersede Pascal this year in the GPGPU supercomputing spaces.
The new product from NVIDIA is a great news for gamers as it is said to have built with cutting edge specs with gaming purpose. Now, this 12nm FinFET process comes with great engineering works. It means the GPU will not only be high-powered, but will also be more productive.
The Nvidia Volta gaming GPUs are likely to arrive in 2018. These will be the 30 series Nvidia GPUs. The flagship, however, is the GTX 3080.
That is not all. It is also believed that Volta is built using a custom, cutting edge, 12nm FinFET manufacturing process at TSMC.
According to an article in Segment Next, the flagship, GTX 3080, will come with HBMs memory. This means it is way ahead in speed than the GDDR5X memory found in the GTX 1080. The GTX 3080 Ti is also reported to be arriving soon just like the 1080 Ti.
The GTX 3070 GPUs are likely to come in 2018. However, this year, fans can witness the arrival of 20 series GPUs, which will be the GTX 2080 and the GTX 2070.
According to reports, these GPUs might enjoy better performance and will be priced lower than the present GPUs.
According to reports in WCCF Tech, the company comprehends to replace GP106 and GP107 based- graphics cards with quicker variants based on similar GPU. Reports also suggest that the new GeForce GTX 2060 Ti and GTX 2060 graphics cards might take the place of the already existing GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB and GTX 1060 3 GB. The release date of the 12nm FinFET are still not conformed.
