"The Flash" Season 3 Episode 10 concluded with Barry (Grant Gustin) asking Wally to be the one to defeat Savitar with the promo for Season 3 Episode 12 revealing the two of them preparing for the battle. But the promo showed that Wally is not progressing as fast as he and Barry thought he would. He would be disappointed in himself when he is not fast enough to stop a meta-human with "the touch of death" after he hurts Iris (Candice Patton).
The promo for "The Flash" Season 3 Episode 12 also reveals that the gang will be in unfamiliar territory will have to face the toughest meta-human with the situation also testing their teamwork. It was surprising that Barry asked Wally to defeat Savitar with the scene presenting an interesting theory moving forward that Savitar could actually be future Wally West and not Barry Allen. However, it still does not solve the question of why any version of them would want to kill Iris.
Another possible reason to set Wally up as the next Flash is to prepare for Barry's death or and it is also possible for Barry to gets stuck inside the speed force and Kid Flash is left save him and to protect the Central City. Although Barry is hoping that if Wally defeats Savitar instead of himself, it will stop the villain from killing Iris, there is always an unforeseen consequence of messing around with time. It is said that the possibilities are endless given the Legend on Reverse-Flash and Black Flash.

Although the previous episode of the show might have displayed a little action despite Cisco getting over Barry, "The Flash" Season 3 Episode 12 is going to be rough as Barry and his team will face the toughest meta-human that has the power to kill people with a single touch. What is even scarier is that the meta-human kills his target fast than they initially thought.
"The Flash" Season 3 Episode 12 will also feature Barry tutoring Kid Flash how to use their power properly and he will spend a lot of time teaching Wally to be a better speedster. As stated above, Iris will be caught in a crossfire as the meta-human slips through Kid Flashes grasp and hurt her, Comicbook reports

Labs team up to bring down Clive Yorkin (Matthew Kevin Anderson) - a criminal meta-human who is killing people by making them decompose at an accelerated rate. Joe (Jesse L. Martin) becomes his next target but it is Iris that is caught in the crossfire. The Flash mentors Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) and begins to elevate the newer speedster's training to another level. This would likely be the last episode of the first half of season 3.
