Yalu iOS Now Supports More Devices, Including iPad Air 2 And iPad Mini 4
After the long wait, Luca Todesco's Yalu 10.2 is now out. There are three versions, one for each version of iOS 10, 10.2 and 10.11. The Yalu Jailbreak Tool is now working for iPhone 7, 7 Plus on 10.1.1, and iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, iPhone SE, and iPad Pro for Yalu iOS 10.2
As reported by Redmond Pie, Todesco had resumed working on the 10.2 version of iOS and created another Jailbreak tool. It has been rumored that Todesco stopped development for Yalu 10.2 after he released the code for the jailbreak tool on Github last week. The road to another Jailbreak tool has been a long one, as security patches from iOS updates are proven to be a great obstacle for developers.
Another good news, the Yalu iOS 10.2 also works for iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 4. But the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus owners are advised to stay in 10.1.1 because it is more stable than the 10.2 version. Exploits that are used in these products using Yalu 10.2 are not working.
To Jailbreak your device, a few things are needed to be downloaded. Cydia Impactor is one of those, in which can be downloaded in Cydia site. Next thing, a copy of the Yalu IPA must be downloaded. The IPSW that will be needed depends on the device. Download links for Yalu 10.1.1 can be found here. The download links for the Yalu 10.2 can be found here.
As a precaution, it is suggested to backup data using the latest version of iTunes. Disable the phone's Passcode and Touch ID. Open Settings > iCloud> Find my iPhone and disable the feature. Connect the device to the computer and launch Cydia Impactor. Drag the .ipa file into the Cydia Impactor and input Apple ID and password if prompted. Just wait for the Cydia impactor to load the tool into the iOS device. When Cydia is finished, disconnect the device from computer and open "Profiles & Device Management". Locate the app and tap "Trust". Tap the Yalu icon and wait for the device to be Jailbroken. If successful, Cydia will be on the home screen. It is a semi-untethered jailbreak, so Cydia must be loaded every time the phone starts.
