Deftones - Chris Kelly Tribute [VIDEO]: Metal Band Meshes 'Engine #9' with 'Jump' Chorus in Memory of Kris Kross 'Mac Daddy' Rapper at Concert

Reports confirm that Chris 'Mac Daddy' Kelly - a founding member of the popular 1990s rap duo Kris Kross - died in Atlanta on Wednesday, May 1. Following the sad, shocking news of 34-year-old Kelly's sudden passing, several fans and fellow members of the music industry reached out to offer their heartfelt sorrows and condolences. The alternative metal rock band Deftones even paid tribute to "Mac Daddy" at a recent concert in St. Louis. To the amusement of the crowd, the hardcore band meshed their hit single "Engine #9" together with the catchy chorus of Kris Kross' "Jump." Check out the video below.

Apparently this isn't the first time the Sacramento metal band has performed such a quirky mash-up, but given the circumstances, Wednesday evening's Kris Kross tribute at the Pageant was extra special:

On May 1, 2013 Chris 'Mac Daddy' Kelly was found unresponsive in his Atlanta home. the rapper was later pronounced dead at the Atlanta Medical Center. According to police reports, Kelly's mother told authorities her son became sick after taking cocaine and heroin the night before he died.
