Kesha Still Accuses Music Producer Dr. Luke Of Sexual Abuse; Singer Releases Damning Emails
Singer Kesha Rose Sebert (known to many as Ke$ha) has not stopped fighting for her freedom from her music producer, Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald. The singer had accused Gottwald of emotional and mental abuse. Last Wednesday, her representatives released a series of email messages that serve as proof of Gottwald's crimes.
Sebert has taken her case to court before, claiming that her producer abused her. She wanted to be free of him, but the court ruled against her, saying that she couldn't break her contract. Last Wednesday, Feb. 15, the singer's party revealed to Page Six the incriminating emails that Gottwald sent to Sebert's manager, Monica Cornia.
The 29-year-old singer had claimed that Gottwald had raped her and emotionally abused her because of her weight. In one of the emails, the producer wrote that the top songwriters and producers weren't knocking on Sebert's door because she had gotten fat. His emails to Cornia also reveal that he was very hard on the "Tik Tok" singer's diet.
Gottwald denied these emails and said they were taken out of context. He further said that the email messages were just about disciplining Sebert on her diet. "We were having a discussion on how she can be more disciplined with her diet," he had written. The context of the message was that Sebert did not stick to her all-juice diet because she preferred turkey and diet coke.
Gottwald's lawyer released a statement against Sebert's camp. According to Billboard, Christine Lepera, the lawyer, argued that the emails were misleading. There was an incident where Sebert and Gottwald fought over the lyrics of "Crazy Kids". Gottwald said that he didn't care what Sebert wanted. Lepera later claimed that the lyrics of the song were re-written because of Sebert and that the latter's claims were still baseless. The two camps will meet with a judge next week via telephone conference.
