Cadillac is preparing to launch the XT3 in the crowded market of compact SUVs and this will hopefully position the company better in this race. Manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW have a strong hold in this market segment and various models that have covered almost the whole compact SUV market segment.

The new Cadillac XT3 has been spied wrapped in the camouflage and this has limited the design element of the SUV. However, it is expected to retain pentagonal front grille with mesh design which the company's characteristic design in Escalade and XT5. The car is also said to be bigger than its rivals including Mercedes-Benz GLA, Audi Q5 and BMW X3 as reported by CarAndDriver.

Cadillac is supposedly powering the XT3 with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Also, the new SUV will probably feature a nine-speed automatic transmission and there will be an optional AWD version too. The car might also have an intercooler as seen from the spied images, reported Carscoops.

Cadillac XT3 will have more legroom and space compared to its direct rivals and company is also going for better materials and equipment to put it against the rival cars from Acura, Audi and BMW. There will be similar features in the XT3 as compact SUVs from Mercedes-Benz and Audi.

The new SUV might come in different models including the most powerful V-Sport version equipped with a twin-turbocharged V6 engine. The base model is expected to have around 230 horsepower and will be offered as a front-wheel drive only. This should help SUV to deliver 30 MPG o the highways easily.

Cadillac XT3 might make its debut in the mid next year and pricing will start around $30,000. However, aggressive pricing may give Cadillac an edge over other rivals offering similar SUVs.
