As Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary, on Wednesday, the talk show host reflected on how quickly the time has flown by and posted a wedding photo on Twitter.
17 years ago on Wednesday Ripa and her 'All My Children' costar, Consuelos, got married in a chapel in Las Vegas and they have since had three lovely children, according to the NY Daily News. Their children are Michael, 15, Lola, 10, and Joaquin, 10.
Ripa posted a photo from there wedding on Twitter and captioned it, "'Omg. Here it is. 5/1/96" and tweeted, "I love you @MarkConsuelos happy anniversary! 17 years feels like 17 days."
Consuelos responded to his wife saying, "Happy 17th anniversary to my boo @KellyRipa."
Later on that morning Ripa spoke about the significance of their wedding anniversary on her talkshow, LIVE With Kelly and Michael, according to US Weekly. She joked about May 1, being National Lei Day saying, "I have to bring this home and lei Mark because today is our wedding anniversary," Ripa quipped. "It's only fair that he should also get lei'd."
"I'm sure it must feel like 200 years for him, but for me, it feels like minutes. It feels like I've blinked my eyes and we've been married for 17 years. Really crazy," she said, according to US Weekly, and, holding an extra lei, she added, "I hope that's a good enough present because this is all I've got!"
US Weekly reports that Ripa explained a very low key outing to celebrate 17 years of marriage. "We'll give each other a nice card and we'll have a nice dinner, but we don't really [celebrate] unless it's a big milestone where we go all out for the big presents and stuff," she said.
Earlier this month, Ripa told People Magazine, "He is the person I was meant to be with forever, and I think he feels the same way. We really do have quite an allegiance to one another. No matter what, we support each other in everything we do."
Ripa told People that they still fight over little things, like the fact that Consuelos never puts the toilet seat down, but she says it's OK for a couple to fight about things. "I really do worship Mark," she said. "I love everything about him, even his annoying habits."
The Examiner marvels at the fact that, unlike most celebrity couple, Ripa and Consuelos have been together for nearly two decades.
