It is not easy being apart from each other so early in a relationship but Selena Gomez and The Weekend is making it work, all thanks to modern methods of communication like Facetime and Instagram.

The Weeknd is away on a music tour in Europe till March 13. Not wanting put their freshly blooming romance on hold, Gomez is doing all that she can to keep the flame burning. And that means venturing out of the traditional means of contact and into the digital and social methods of communication.

According to SF Gate, the two love birds are constantly Facetiming each other. Other than that, they love checking up on what the other person is doing via texts and calls. They even exchange a string of pictures whenever they get some free time, just to show how much they miss each other.

But that does not mean that Gomez is acting like the possessive girlfriend, who is afraid that giving The Weekend space would mean granting him time to flirt with random girls during his tour. The "Same Old Love" singer has already experienced something like this before when her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber allegedly cheated on her when he went on his long tours. But with The Weeknd, there is complete trust, unlike the equation that Gomez shared with Bieber.

To prove that she always has The Weeknd on her mind, even when he is an ocean apart, Gomez put on a red and black tee tee from his merchandise when she went to enjoy game night with her family recently, Just Jared reported. The subtle shout out to her beau was clear in the family picture posted by Gomez's mother on her Instagram page, captioned "Family Game night!! I love them all even though they almost beat me up..."
