‘Assassin’s Creed’ Heading to Feudal Japan in Spotted ‘Rainbow Six: Siege’ Easter Egg

The Ubisoft title "Assassin's Creed" has been using Western settings since its initial release. However, the game may just have bought tickets to the East, based on an Easter egg seen in "Rainbow Six: Siege."

According to the Sun, a player was going through some rounds in the game "Rainbow Six: Siege", when a samurai outfit was spotted on the map "Skyscraper." Now while the outfit itself may be dismissed as a decoration, the belt buckle of the outfit looked oddly familiar. The buckle has an "A" symbol on it, similar to the "A" symbol used in the "Assassin's Creed" games.

Previous announcements for the upcoming "Assassin' Creed" game, titled "Assassin's Creed: Empire", suggests that the game will be set on the country of Egypt, with the main character being a former slave. However, the term "Empire" could also be used in Feudal Japan, wherein it was ruled by empires.

There has also been quite a clamor for the "Assassin's Creed" titles to use the East for its settings and theme. Ubisoft did try this out in the title "Assassin's Creed: Chronicles", where a certain section of the game was played through Shao Jun.

In other news, images regarding a Virtual Reality-based "Assassin's Creed" games have been circulating, leading fans to believe that the upcoming "Assassin's Creed" title would be a VR one. According to Gamezone, that is not the case. Titled "Assassin's Creed: Da Vinci Workshop", the VR simulator is something Ubisoft is developing with NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences. The VR system would be used to help students understand and work on VR technology.  

For the meantime, Ubisoft is focusing on enhancing the gameplay of its titles, taking a break from the yearly publishing to create better games for its fanbase. This comes from a decline in both sales and reviews of their titles, including "Assassin's Creed" and "Far Cry", with general feedback being that the games had nothing new to give to its players.
